In memory of Mike Southwell ’60

Princeton Progressives announces with great sorrow the passing of long-time PPro Board member Mike Southwell ’60 on June 11th after a courageous 10-month battle against leukemia. We will miss him dearly.

Mike was a life-long activist whose contributions to the progressive movement live on in PPro.

“The Vietnam War changed me, a politically naive Midwestern graduate student from a Republican family. I marched, I withheld taxes, I protested; and I’ve kept up this activism ever since. During my years as a Professor, and even more now that I’m retired, I’ve tried to help along progressive causes. And so PPro has been a good fit for me.” ~ Mike Southwell.
