As a nation, we have witnessed an assault on reproductive health care. Despite the overwhelming support for safe legal abortion, anti-abortion legislators have enacted cruel, dangerous and unconstitutional abortion bans. Reproductive health services for members of the LGBTQ community are also under attack as a result of the administration’s regulation to “protect” the statutory conscience rights of health care providers. This unfair rule fosters and allows discriminatory treatment of LGBTQ patients. The failure to expressly prohibit anti-LGBTQ discrimination will exacerbate health disparities in this population.
In the current climate, there can be confusion about which sexual health and wellness services are still accessible. For this reason, it is important for Princeton University students to know that their access to sexual health and wellness services has not been impacted. A listing of those services and the link for information appears below.
Princeton Progressives supports women’s reproductive rights and reproductive health services for members of the LGBTQ community. We also support Princeton University students who engage in advocacy on behalf of safe legal abortion and non-discriminatory access to reproductive health services for all communities.
