PPro’s 15 June 2016 fundraiser, featuring Douglas Rushkoff ’83, was agreed by all attendees to be extremely interesting and highly successful.
Douglas Rushkoff ’83 is the author of many bestselling books on media, technology, and culture. At this event, he discussed his most recent book, Throwing Rocks at the Google Bus, available here. Rushkoff’s thesis is that a tornado of technological improvements has spun our economic program out of control, and humanity as a whole—the protesters and the Google employees as well as the shareholders and the executives—are all trapped by the consequences. It’s time to optimize our economy for the human beings it’s supposed to be serving.
Special thanks to Isaac Lustgarten ’83 for the use of his beautiful Upper West Side apartment, whose spectacular views added to the ambience.
